The Story of Our Second Collaborative Learning Event
Our company recently organized its second knowledge-sharing event, this time focusing on AI. The choice of location was a conscious one: Tállya, a picturesque wine region where we had stayed last year, so we were already familiar with its excellent accommodations and unique atmosphere.
The event had a dual purpose: to provide deeper insights into the field of AI and to offer a relaxed, community-building experience. The distance and the rural setting allowed us to disconnect from our daily routines and fully immerse ourselves in the subject matter.
Mix of AI and Lighthearted Topics
We structured the program carefully to make it accessible for all participants. The day began with basic knowledge on AI, making it easy for those less familiar with AI to join the discussion. This structured approach allowed the presentations to delve gradually into more complex and specific questions.
The presenters, a mix of our colleagues and invited external experts, prepared two types of topics: each was tasked with presenting one AI-related topic and one general, interesting subject unrelated to daily professional focus. We held an internal vote on these topics to select the most appealing ones, allowing everyone to contribute to the event’s content.
Topics and Presenters
AI Topics:
- AI from Professional and Lay Perspectives – Presented by Réka and Olivér. An overview of AI from both expert and layperson perspectives.
- Analysis of Deepfake AI Videos and Audio – Presented by György. An in-depth look at AI applications in the media.
- Skynet – Presented by Viki. An examination of futuristic and popular conceptions of AI.
- AI in the Music Industry – Presented by Dani. The role and impact of AI in music production.
- Types of AI – Presented by Tomi and Matyi. A breakdown of different AI types and how they work.
- Project management – Presented by Viktor from end2end consulting Kft. , offering his unique perspective on Project management difficulties in lard projects.
Non-professional, Lighthearted Topics:
- Discworld – Presented by Gyuri. A lighthearted discussion about Terry Pratchett’s world.
- Strangest Wars and Events – Presented by Olivér. A look at unusual and surprising events in history.
- Conspiracy Theories – Presented by Olivér. A lively discussion of popular conspiracy theories around the world.
Tállya and the Culinary Experience
During the three-day program, we placed significant emphasis on leisure and team-building activities. Board games, communal cooking, and a wine tasting gave the team building aspect of the event.
The meals and wine tastings offered a unique experience, with local wines and dishes. The wine tasting was particularly memorable: we sampled 6+1 wines from the Tokaj region from the Szalóczy winery.
Reflections and Lessons Learned
At the end of the event, we gathered feedback from participants. They particularly appreciated the event structure and the alternation of professional and informal topics, which helped balance the mood and keep everyone engaged. New ideas emerged from the discussions that we can integrate into future projects.
It became clear to us that knowledge-sharing events not only support professional development but also contribute to team-building and strengthening our company culture.
